Senior Emily Strambi will be rowing at University of Pennsylvania next fall.
She started crew after an injury in soccer her sophomore year and has loved the sport ever since.
“Rowing is different than any other sport I’ve ever played,” Strambi said. “It’s so team-oriented and the camaraderie you build with your teammates is unparalleled to any other experience.”
She is currently rowing for Norcal Crew in Redwood City. She sits in the stroke seat and bow seat for her club teams. Her many accomplishments in the sport include being invited to the US Junior National Team Development Camp in 2016 and High Performance Camp in 2017, both highly regarded camps in crew. She also received third place at the Southwest Youth Championships and qualified for the Youth National Championships in the Women’s Pair this past year.
After looking at many other competitive schools, Strambi chose UPenn due to the coaching staff and the opportunity to study at Wharton School of Business.
