Senior Eli Haas will be running track at Chapman University in Southern California. Haas is a strong runner in both Cross Country and Track and Field.
“Initially I only ran cross country which I got into it in middle school but really began to love and realize I was good at it during my freshman year of high school,” Haas said.
During his junior and senior year, Haas developed close relationships with the coaches and team members, something he feels he will miss most about high school track.
“I'll miss the community and the team atmosphere,” Haas said. “Even though it's an individual sport, it's easy to find lots of team spirit and have fun on a track team.”
Though he did not choose Chapman strictly because of the track team, Haas is excited about the opportunity to run in college.
“I really liked lots of things about the school and then when admissions decisions came out, it seemed to make sense to look into the possibility of running at Chapman,” Haas said. “So I reached out to the coach and he looked at my times and offered me a spot on the team.”
