After four years as a part of the Burlingame girls’ varsity tennis team, star player Halle Martinucci will be attending the University of Redlands to play for the women’s tennis team.
Martinucci has held the ranking of No. 1 since her freshman year and has participated in multiple tennis competitions including PALs and CCS. In her junior year, Martinucci placed first in PAL individuals and placed fourth in it during her senior year. Burlingame’s varsity girls’ tennis team attended CCS during Martinucci’s sophomore year.
“The biggest takeaway was just being a part of a team and experiencing working with other girls and having a tight bond,” Martinucci said of her experience as a member of the BHS tennis team.
Currently, the Redland’s women's’ tennis is ranked no. 35 in the NCAA division. Martinucci is looking forward to the new opportunities which await her in being able to play at a collegiate level.
“I’m just hoping to have a good time and gain some more tennis experience,” she said.
