On Tuesday, May 23, Burlingame High School hosted the third annual Film Festival. Students from the district were allowed to enter, but only students from BHS and Hillsdale entered.
“I started the festival because a lot of people see BTV as all that the class is, where that’s actually only one-tenth of the class, so this is one way for the class to have their films be viewed by a larger audience and win prizes for it,” Steve Erle, arts teacher, said.
The festival featured four categories: Best Documentary, Best PSA, Best Music Video and Best Short Film. Each category had 6 final films. At the end of the night, the Best of Show was voted on by the audience from the finalists for each category. Cris and Patrick Yldefonso won the award of a $75 Amazon Express gift card.
“We greatly appreciate our teacher Mr.Erle who helped us throughout our progress as filmmakers, and winning these awards makes us feel excited for the direction we are heading in and encourages to improve even further,” Cris Yldefonso said.
