The varsity volleyball team is undefeated as of their last game against Half Moon Bay, following last year’s Central Coast Section championship win. The team has won eight out of the eight league games so far this season, most recently against Half Moon Bay with a score of 3 to 1. They are striving to go to the Central Coast Section championship again this year.
“We have really good players and a combined team,” sophomore Polina Zamalin said. “We’re super compatible, and we have a passion to win. Once we get on the court, we’re always on our best game.”
The team’s goal is to keep doing what they are doing. A challenge the girls have faced is underestimating the other teams, which they want to stop doing, senior Nicole Brunicardi said.
“The best part of playing volleyball is being a part of the school,” said senior Amber Moss, who is one of the team captains. “Going out there and knowing you’re representing and competing for your school.”
Their next match is an away game against Menlo-Atherton on Tuesday, Oct. 24.
