Boys' Tennis

Following up on last year’s comeback season, the boys’ tennis team is working hard to meet high expectations in the competitive PAL Bay Division. They eased into the season with a victory over San Mateo on Feb. 20. They returned to their home courts with a friendly competition when they triumphed over Mills High School. Despite the wins, the team is still determined to continue last year’s success through rigorous practices.

According to junior Evan Mahaffey, a top doubles player along with senior Oliver Nix, they’re “not planning on slowing down, especially against experienced players at Menlo-Atherton and Aragon High Schools.”

They lost three of the top four singles players to graduation, but they still have their No. 1 singles player, senior Cale Goodman, and a matured group of young talent.

Senior Cale Goodman, the No. 1 singles player last year, returns a ball at a Feb. 27 home game.
