Water polo shows promise for next season

After going 2-1 under interim head coach Jonathan Dhyne, the Panthers slowed down in the latter half of the season, losing their final two games to Woodside and Menlo-Atherton. With an overall record of 5-9, this season was not ideal for the Panthers but they showed promise for next season.
“The play of some of our underclassmen this year gives me confidence that we will improve next season,” Dhyne said.
More than half of the players are underclassmen, but the Panthers still showed that they could compete with powerhouse teams like Woodside and Menlo-Atherton (goal differentials in those two games were only four). The Panthers demonstrated that they still belong at the top of the Peninsula Bay Division, beating out Mills, Carlmont, Hillsdale and Half Moon Bay. Woodside and Menlo-Atherton are the only teams above the Panthers in the standings, so the Panthers need to get wins against these teams next year to secure a spot in the Central Coast Section tournament.
