The girls lacrosse season began in late February, and they are off to a strong start. They crushed Hillsdale in their opening game 15-0 and beat Mercy 13-2 several days later. The team looks to beat strong opposition like Menlo-Atherton and Castilleja this year which they believe will be their toughest matchups. Although they lost a tough game 6-11 against Archbishop Mitty, the girls are optimistic and believe they have a competitive season ahead of them.

“Even if we don’t win all our games, I hope we go out there and give all the effort we can so when we walk off the field we know we gave it our all,” senior attacker Izzy Bechwati said.

Although the seniors are leaving at the end of the season, the team has young talent to carry them through the coming years. Freshmen Ella Treu and Tess Dakin are both strong players who can add skill and longevity to the roster for years to come.

Despite this, the seniors are dejected it will be their last season. “I am slightly sad to say goodbye to the program but am excited to see what I have in store for the future,” senior attacker Jessica Johnstone said.
