The Association of Latin American Students (ALAS) held its first meeting on Wednesday, Oct. 15, where they presented an introductory slideshow and offered burritos. On the slideshow, the club wrote they are “dedicated to representing and supporting students who identify as Latinx, as well as those connected to Latin America through ancestry, personal history, or interest.”

Akira Nakamura is a sophomore at Burlingame High School and a second year Journalism student. He is excited to embrace a larger role this year as a copy editor and continue to develop his writing skills. Outside of school, Akira enjoys playing soccer and spending time with family.
