Claire Hunt is a member of the Burlingame High School class of 2020 and the Managing Editor of the Burlingame B. When she’s not writing and editing articles, Claire enjoys photography, reading, and listening to music. Her favorite band is Simon & Garfunkel, and her favorite book is On the Road by Jack Kerouac. After graduation, Claire wants to major in Gender and Sexuality studies, spend two years in the Peace Corps, and then work for the American Civil Liberties Union to defend justice and human rights. She is looking forward to helping manage the B after three years on the paper!

Burlingame students are breaking this California driving rule every day

Walking past school after the final bell, it is common to see cars full of students and their friends driving off campus, blasting music, and heading home after a long day. Whether they know it or not, these students are breaking a basic California driving law. California is one of the few states that imposes a restriction on all minors’ driver’s licenses that restricts their ability to drive around friends and younger family members.

The city of Burlingame’s expectations for marijuana legalization

This particular panel was focused on how Proposition 64 was going to make a difference in the way the law and teenagers in California handle marijuana use.
